Purpose: Work within the Actuarial Division of of the Medical Services Administration (MSA) to to assist staff with functions and tasks rel related to the continuing development and ope operation of the Transitional Medicaid Sta Statistical Information System (TMSIS) rep report program with the Centers for Medicare and and Medicaid Services (CMS).
Duties and Responsibilities: • Prepare summary reports from TMSIS-processed data. Prepare analytical reports and studies to verify results prior to submission.

Prepare analytical reports a and studies to verify results prior to s submission. • Utilize the CHAMPS Data Warehouse and other relational database products to perform investigative studies to identify errors or weakness in TMSIS-processed data. • Identify specific problems and s sources of unusual variations in processed r results between report cycles. Assist MSA s staff to determine if reprocessing TMSIS d data extracts are required. • Assist in the preparation of a C CMS/Mathematica summary report on data t trends and variances between report cycles. • Help in the preparation of responses t to questions from CMS/Mathematica as r required. • Assist MSA staff in the development of relational database applications to analyze data and to identify data quality issues as part of the TMSIS pre-submission p process. • Investigate data mapping options and t techniques for required reporting as part of t the expanded TMSIS reporting protocol. • Assist in preparing Source-To-Target ( (S2T) revisions as required from changes or a additions to TMSIS reporting requirements. • Organize and maintain archival s system to retain and organize the reports, s schedules, and analyses from TMSIS d development. • Assist MSA staff in working with the C CHAMPS Data Warehouse contractor to process T TMSIS extracts, evaluate results and to m maintain report schedules. • Assist in development of TMSIS rules-based Web product. Perform regular maintenance and update functions as required.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree, business, data data, or IT fields preferred.
Experience: Prior experience in health ca care related field preferred.
Important Skills and Characteristics: Knowledge of various relational database and software applications and products such as Access, Excel and Word. Effective oral and written communication skills. Curiosity and problem solving skills. Ability to perform within a multi-person workgroup setting. Ambitious, self-directed and self-motivated, ab able to complete work in a timely manner and ha handle multiple tasks at one time with mi minimal supervision. Demonstrated data ma management and analytical skills highly pr preferred.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Standard office environment and physical requirements typical of an office position. May require valid vehicle operator’s license where needed to where needed to perform duties of the position.
