Position Description: The U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) is prioritizing Population-based HIV Impact Assessments (PHIA) to provide a better understanding of HIV incidence, prevalence, and viral load suppression. The GPS team (GPST) is made up of epidemiologists, demographers, medical officers, fellows and data managers who work together to develop survey methods, support survey implementation, oversee survey quality, support the analysis and use of survey data. The GPST Data Manager will support validation of survey data, manage data organization and data access for agency staff, and conduct analysis of survey data for internal use, reporting, and publication. The position will collaboratively develop analysis plans with other team members, partners in the agency, and primary investigator institutions. based HIV Impact Assessments (PHIA) to provide a better understanding of HIV incidence, prevalence, and viral load suppression. Qualifications: Prior data management experience is required; prior experience analyzing public health survey data, HIV data, and/or laboratory data is strongly preferred. Applicant should have strong skills in using SAS for data management (tabulations, merging, sub-setting); strong skills in file management and MS Office applications; strong analytic skills and experience with complex analyses (in any package); be detail oriented and well organized; and be able to communicate technical information effectively (in person and in writing) with both technical and non-technical audiences. Prior experience analyzing survey data with SAS Survey procedures (surveyfreq, surveymeans surveymeans, surveylogistic), experience using SAS macro variables is preferred, but not required. Prior public health surveillance experience and/or advanced public health degree, experience working with partners in an international setting, and ex Proficiency in Stata, R, and/or geospatial software is beneficial.
