Employee Name: TBD Supervisor: Dawn Lukomski Purpose: Provides leadership and manages the Car Care Projects Unit for the HIV Care Section wit within the Division of HIV and STD Programs at at the Michigan Department of Health and Hum Human Services. The Care Projects Manager wil will support a team that that will develop, fac facilitate, track, and follow up on the pro progress of projects that support positive hea health outcomes for people living with HIV in in Michigan. The position is located in Lan Lansing with travel to Detroit and other loc locations as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities: • Train, supervise, monitor and evaluate staff; providing day-to-day d direction for Care Projects Unit. • Coordinates activities by scheduling w work assignments, setting priorities, and d directing the work of the Care Projects unit m members. • Directs and participates in the d development, interpretation, evaluation, and r recommendation of policies, procedures, r rules, and regulations for the effective o operation of programs. • Follow up with staff to ensure t timelines are followed. • Work with unit staff continuously to e ensure that what is delivered meets the n needs and requirements. • Be familiar with staff rolls and i inter/intradepartmental projects to connect r resources. • Responsible for assuring activities a address federal and state program reporting r requirements. • Assist with writing narratives and b budgets for grants/contracts to meet federal a and state funding requirements. • Communicates (written and verbally) c clearly and effectively with internal staff a and external partners. • Familiar with procedures and players o of inter/intradepartmental projects i including, but not limited to Ryan White P Part B & D, Michigan AIDS Drug Assistance P Program, HIV Care Coordination, Link Up M Michigan/Detroit. • Support Section and Division a activities by participating in required m meetings, committees, confidentiality and s security trainings and other trainings as n needed. • Other duties are assigned by manager.
Education: Required: Bachelor’s degree in public health related field, Master’s prefe preferred.
Experience: Minimum 3 years in public hea health program coordination.
Important Skills and Characteristics: • Organized and detail oriented with e excellent oral and written communications s skills. • Ability to facilitate a team of e employees. • Must be self-motivated, able to c complete work in a timely manner, and handle m multiple tasks with minimal supervision. • Critical thinking skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office ap applications (especially Excel), email, and in internet browser software are required.
