Reports to C-suite officer, a Senior Managing Director, or a higher grade PD. This will be designated on the hire letter.

Grade 1 and Grade 2 Grade 1 Program Directors are only assigned programmatic duties. Grade 2 Program Directors have organizational duties in addition to programmatic duties.

Required Travel Required travel is driven by programmatic and organizational assignments. All PDs should expect to travel up to 25% of the time; however, some indirect programs may require up to 50% travel. This percentage reflects travel both locally AND nationally.

Essential Functions • For direct serve areas, directs all activities and programs that fall under the auspices of assigned program, including personnel, facility and program issues to insure quality of programming. Indirect programs may be assigned several large portions of a program to direct. • Recruits, hires and provides orientation and evaluation of full time, part time, and temporary staff, interns, and volunteers either directly or through oversight of activity. • Effectively and proactively uses technology and assists staff as needed in program for optimal use of technology. • Administers program budgets. Sets priorities for and directs development of department budgets. Monitors and controls budgets in accordance with organizational, funder, state and federal guidelines. • Interacts with funders in a professional and proactive manner in programmatic and budgetary matters. • Conducts presentations at conferences, workshops and meetings and takes the lead in preparing manuscripts for publication, curriculum, or other printed guides or materials designated by Senior Management. • Facilitates training as required by programmatic need. • Leads and/or assists in the writing of grant proposals. • Writes narrative reports and performs program and data analysis as needed. Monitors, guides, and implements strategic plan and performance outcomes of the grant to ensure program compliance. • Works collaboratively with other staff to carry out duties and functions of organization across sites, programs, and functions. • Works collaboratively with Specialized/Tech positions to ensure programmatic needs are met and integration of divisional activities result in a clear, consistent, and unified message and product. • Acts as liaison for, or as a representative of, the organization with various community and public agencies. Attends meetings which involve program or appoint appropriate designees. • Provides leadership for ongoing curriculum review and development. • Participates in the development of new programs and innovative program delivery approaches. • Ensures effective communication between program and other areas of the organization, as well as between organization, funders, partners, and other key external partners. • Promotes the Community Health Worker Model in the development and implementation of program and organization duties and assignments. • Provides assistance, consulting, support and/or coaching to other parties as necessary to carry out programmatic goals. • Develops and maintains communication networks and relationships with key stakeholders. • Provides leadership in developing schedules, assessments, and plans as needed. • Works in partnership with other staff to ensure integration of programs and effective use of resources. • Actively and proactively problem solves as needed, encourage problem solving and innovation within program, site, and organization. • Performs all functions and activities within the guidelines and philosophy set forth in MHP’s Strategic Plan, policies, mission, goals and vision. • Participates as a member of various teams as assigned. • Covers PC duties of assigned program as required • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Must be well organized and able to effectively lead and manage a wide variety of tasks, programs and personnel simultaneously. • Must have knowledge of management techniques and administration, including budget control and maintenance, planning, and personnel management. • Must have excellent presentation, communication, negotiate and facilitation skills (both oral and written) and create useful content for multiple audiences as needed. • Must be able to analyze and synthesize information and perform program evaluation. • Must demonstrate ability to work effectively as a team member and to work independently. • Must be able to convey information, guidance and work directions, instilling a sense of mission, service, cooperation, and collaboration with staff and within assigned work areas. • Must have knowledge and understanding of community health programs, social justice, advocacy, and community activism. • Facility and adeptness in technology and adoption of new technology. • Knowledge of needs assessment, program planning and evaluation required with experience in these areas strongly preferred. • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets strongly preferred.

Required Education and Experience • Earned Bachelor degree required. Master’s degree in related area preferred • at least 3 years’ experience in supervision of community outreach work or combination of same and with experience as a CHW • Cultural competency concerning population served. • Computer and technological literacy and proficiency required. • Grant writing experience preferred. • Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish and English required. • Valid Driver’s license and car insurance • Valid Passport

Organization Description: MHP Salud is a national nonprofit organization that implements and runs Community Health Worker programs. These programs provide peer health education, increase access to health resources and bring community members closer. MHP Salud also has extensive experience offering health organizations training and technical assistance on Community Health Worker programming tailored to their specific needs.
