Position Description: This position conducts non-regulatory activities related to the recognition, evaluation, and control of Legionella and other premise plumbing pathogens (PPPs) in Wisconsin. This position will provide expertise and guidance to DHS, other state agencies, and local and tribal health departments (LTHDs) on the use of respiratory protection, as well as the design and implementation of other risk mitigation strategies to reduce exposures to infectious diseases. The person occupying this position serves as the subject matter expert on the environmental risk factors for the growth of Legionella and other PPPs in premise plumbing (including in healthcare facilities), recreational water attractions, cooling towers, and other public, residential, commercial, and industrial settings.

Qualifications: Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following: Experience providing technical assistance to internal and external stakeholders (e.g., general public, healthcare providers, environmental health specialists, etc.); education, training, or experience in environmental health, plumbing systems, water management plans, or premise plumbing pathogens; experience working on and with multidisciplinary or multiagency teams.
