Position Description: We are looking for a Primary Care Workforce Data Analyst to join our team working at the State of New Hampshire. This position is responsible for cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing data regarding the current and anticipated supply of health care professionals who make up the state’s primary care workforce and the current and anticipated demand for primary care services in the state in the future. This position analyzes and presents information that can inform options for policies, programs, and services. Our Health Professions Data Center is recognized as a national leader in this work and is continuing to grow and transform as a vital resource.

Qualifications: Education: Master's degree from a recognized college or university with major study in statistics, mathematics, economics, health services research or administration, computer science, environmental science, or related field.

Experience: Three years' professional experience in the design or development of programs for the collection and analysis of data. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education at the graduate level only.

License/Certification: Possession of a valid driver's license and/or have access to transportation for statewide travel.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Expertise needed in the use of statistical analyses software (i.e. SAS, R, SPSS, Microsoft Access and Excel), strong verbal and written communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in epidemiology or in a public health setting is preferred.

Organization Description: The Health Professions Data Center sits under the New Hampshire Primary Care Office (PCO). The PCO is a component of the Rural Health and Primary Care Section (RHPC) within the Division of Public Health Services’ Bureau of Public Health Systems, Policy and Performance, New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

DHHS is the state’s largest agency, made up of approximately 2,800 employees and the bulk of the state’s budget (with Medicaid being the most costly line item). NH DHHS is overseen by a Commissioner, appointed by the Governor for what, typically, is a four-year term. The PCO is physically located in the capital city of Concord. However, much of the work performed is specific to underserved, often rural, areas of the state.
