Position Description: The JPS Center for Epidemiology & Healthcare Delivery Research (CEHDR) invites applications for an institutionally-funded Health System Research Scientist position. CEHDR is a multidisciplinary research group embedded within a safety-net health system that drives healthcare transformation by conducting research that provides actionable insights for improving healthcare delivery, optimizing patient outcomes, and reducing costs at JPS Health Network and beyond. Our research is organized in three core programs: health services research, implementation research, and outcomes research.

The Health System Research Scientist is an academic equivalent of Assistant Professor and will lead investigator-initiated and collaborative projects that address critical healthcare challenges. The Health System Research Scientist will have a dedicated support staff, access to an advanced health information technology infrastructure, and abundant opportunities to collaborate with other researchers, healthcare providers, operational teams, and health system leaders. In addition, our investigators are provided personalized mentorship and resources for career and leadership development. We particularly encourage applications from epidemiologists, health services researchers, and behavioral scientists with expertise or interest in developing, implementing, and evaluating the effectiveness of healthcare interventions for improving care delivery and patient outcomes. For example, interventions may include but are not limited to digital health tools, care delivery programs, and behavioral or educational strategies.

Qualifications: Applicants are required to have a doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, ScD) in epidemiology, health services research, behavioral science, or a related field. A collaborative mindset, solution-oriented thinking, and strong project management skills are necessary. The position will require relocation to the Dallas- Fort Worth area to meet the hybrid work requirements. Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled. The start date is negotiable.
