Frequently Asked Questions:

You may begin your APE any time after you complete your first semester (if part-time, after you complete at least 9 credit hours). So, if you are a first year student, you may start your APE in January, or anytime thereafter, as long as it is after your first semester (and 9 credit hours).

Remember, though, you must complete your APE and its documentation (including final evaluations) in time to be cleared for graduation.

Please note, in December or early January, you will receive an email indicating that you have been given access to the APE Portal.

If you are having trouble logging in to the APE Portal, you may be able to resolve your issues by trying the following:

Supervisor Email Address

A lot of businesses use alias email addresses like john.doe@emory.edu and jdoe007@emory.edu that go to the same email box. If you have a situation like this, or regularly use more than one email account, please double check the email address where your initial email about the APE Portal was sent. The subject line will likely be something like, "Please Approve APE & Objectives." This will be the email account you will need to use when logging in to the APE Portal.

Forgot Password

If your current password isn’t working, you can click on the "Forgot Password?" link next to the "Sign In" button to retrieve your password.

Using Your Emory NetID (Yes or No)

Non-Emory employees will always select the "No" circle. If you are an Emory employee and are having trouble logging in, it is always a good idea to toggle between the two options. When you select "Yes," you will just use your Emory NetId to log in (jdoe007). If you select "No," you will use your full email address (jdoe007@memorandum).
