Purpose of Job
The purpose of this classification is to manage the quality improvement activities for clinical services, assuring compliance with related local, state, and federal regulations, and to promote and assist with Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities at the Knox County Health Department (KCHD). Essential Functions The Clinical Quality Improvement Manager is responsible for the following essential functions:
Develops audit tools that incorporate clinical quality measures, grant requirements and local, state, and federal guidelines.
Performs regular medical record and clinic site reviews; facilitate peer review coordinate patient satisfaction survey efforts.
Interprets standards and performance criteria to staff; assists with and conducts program evaluations to include surveillance, inspection, record review and audits.
Educates staff regarding quality assurance guidelines, procedures and evaluation follow-ups including feedback, corrective action, and planning.
In collaboration with managers and clinical teams, analyzes clinical problems, efficiency of services, and productivity standards, facilitating improvement efforts.
Uses quality improvement (QI) tools and resources (e.g. root cause analysis, lean methodology, brainstorming...) to facilitate improvement projects and activities across KCHD.
Collaborates with others in the QI Division and across KCHD in monitoring and maintaining reaccreditation.
Assures compliance with all local, state, and federal guidelines.
Collaborates with clinical teams to develop and implement solutions to problems to improve operations and resolve complaints from patients or clients.
Keeps abreast of developments in quality improvement, including NACCHO Culture of Quality and PHAB; represents the department in the State Health Department's quality improvement program, providing input into standards and guidelines formation.
Coordinate Limited English Proficiency (LEP) activities to assure compliance with federal guidelines
Additional Job Functions
Respond to and report immediately if called upon by local, regional or central office supervisors, as part of a coordinated emergency response by the Knox County Mayor’s Office
Ensure regular, punctual attendance during scheduled work hours.
Perform other duties as required, including participating in EPI On Call rotation
