Position Description: Tasks:

- Process biological and other potentially hazardous specimens for chemical drug analysis. (Specimens are defined as blood, tissues, cells, fluids, cervical-vaginal and rectal secretions in these tasks.)

- Develop and validate analytical methods to measure small molecular weight compounds in biological samples.

- Perform serologic and molecular assays and laboratory supports that are pertinent to HIV studies identified by project leads and subject matter experts (SMEs).

- Collect, process, aliquot and store biological specimens. Evaluate antiretroviral drug distribution in specimens/samples.

- Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments used in the laboratory such as Incubators, hot plates, thermometers, water baths and others; and documents for quality management systems (QMS) related activities.

- Maintain experiment records, analyze data, and prepare data/results for presentations and written reports.

Qualifications: Qualifications:

The contractor must have a background in analytical chemistry and demonstrated laboratory skills through class works or work experience . The offeror shall have appropriate education level (a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Biology or other related field) related to HIV prevention research. The contractor shall have at least 2 years of experience performing liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC-MS)-based measurement of small molecules in biological specimens; developing or validating analytical assays; extracting analytes from multiple biological specimen types (blood, tissues, cells) collected during human and animal studies; and calibrating and maintaining laboratory instrumentation for quality purposes.
