Tanaq Management Services (TMS) delivers professional, scientific, and technical services and information technology (IT) solutions to federal agencies in health, agriculture, technology, and other government services. TMS is a subsidiary of the St. George Tanaq Corporation, an Alaskan Native Corporation (ANC) committed to serving Federal customers while also giving back to the Tanaq native community and shareholders.  

About the Role

We are seeking an Informatics Analyst (REDCap) to support our federal government customer.

This is a fully remote position that can be based in Atlanta, GA or anywhere in the U.S. This position is contingent on contract award.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data quality assessments.
  • Be point of contact for analytic projects and provide consultation and support to the information technology team as needed.
  • Build big data provisioning pipelines.
  • Assist in database management and analytics for projects stored within REDCap.
  • Conduct machine learning analyses, which may include natural language processing tasks.
  • Generate REDCap exported reports for multiple DSLR Public Health projects.
  • Assist DSLR project officers in gathering key grant funding data.
  • Provide consultation to other DSLR groups on a variety of analytic, data extraction, public health disaster management, and data visualization tasks.

Qualifications:

Required Experience and Skills

  • 1-3 years of experience conducting REDCap database maintenance/manipulation, creating data fields, and duplicating data collection tools/forms. 
  • Experience with PowerBI is a plus.
  • Proficiency in R or Python, and experience with SAS, is preferred.
  • Must have excellent data communication skills.
  • Experience with data engineering, and informatics, working with data at scale, and experience working in AWS environments. 
  • Experience validating, cleaning, and analyzing large-scale public health data from multiple sources.
  • Experience serving as a consultant (internal or external) on analytic projects.
  • The ability to provide technical assistance to internal and external team members and stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as it will be required to communicate with stakeholders and individuals in multiple departments of public health to explain key informatic processes.
  • Previous experience analyzing large complex datasets independently.
  • Experience implanting machine learning techniques.
  • Familiarity with text analytics.
  • Strong quantitative skills.
  • Experience providing technical assistance in support of an IT system.
  • A clinical background, familiarity with text analytics, and experience with machine learning are beneficial. 
  • Effective organization and communication skills.
  • Previous experience working at a federal government agency preferred.
  • Ability to obtain government clearance
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

Education and Training

  • BA/BS in a related field, Master of Public Health, Computer Science or equivalent Data Analysis experience.       

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May need to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
