Purpose of Job
The purpose of this classification is to provide plan, organize, and direct operational activities of Knox County Health Department clinics/departments.
Essential Functions
The Patient Services Manager is responsible for the following essential functions:
Direct operational activities of the Disease Intervention Specialist’s (DIS) section of the Sexually Transmitted Disease Program; act as initial point of contact for program related issues; maintain and assure efficiency of services and productivity standards; develop and implement solutions to problems to improve operations and resolve complaints from patients, clients or partner providers
Conduct, supervise and participate in case investigation, contract tracing, field/site visits as required to ensure quality program
Conduct annual laboratory visit to provide education and training related to STI/HIV/HCV testing and reporting per grant requirements. Site visit should be conducted by program management.
Prepares and presents a variety of reports and statistical information as required; performs Quality Improvement (QI) activities in various departmental areas
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other health department personnel as well as community providers and agencies
Attends and participates in management staff and other supervisory staff meetings; conducts clinic staff meetings on a regular basis
Handles employee concerns and problems as well as complaints from patients and /or clients
Participates in new employee orientation, nursing in-service and other related training as needed
Clearly understands and communicates departmental policy and program objective in a positive and supportive manner
Assures the confidentiality of all patients and records
Ensure patient care, staff relations and efficiency of service provided
May serve on various committees as needed
