Position Description: Under the direction of the Virginia Department of Health (VDH), Office of Family Health Services (OFHS), Division of Population Health Data (DPHD), the Maternal Health Data and Quality Measures Task Force Coordinator will be responsible for providing staff support to Virginia’s Task Force on Maternal Health Data and Quality Measures, ensuring the provisions of 2024 Executive Order 32 are met. The purpose of the Task Force on Maternal Health Data and Quality Measures is to evaluate maternal health data collection to guide policies in the Commonwealth to improve maternal care, quality, and outcomes for all birthing people in the Commonwealth. The Task Force Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing efforts pertaining to data collection, evaluation, resource coordination, establishing partnerships/liaisons, and assessment of the impact of policies and procedures. Specific activities will include, but are not limited to: 1) communicating with Task Force members, maternal health experts, and researchers; 2) preparing for and facilitating Task Force meetings and public hearings; 3) documenting Task Force meeting minutes and public comments; 4) providing public health evaluation expertise; 5) creating, updating, and maintaining Task Force data analysis and evaluation plans; 6) preparing the Task Force’s annual report for submission to the General Assembly; and 7) helping to manage funds to support the Task Force’s work. The Task Force Coordinator will also work directly with other VDH OFHS staff members, including the DPHD and Division of Child and Family Health (DCFH) Directors, to support the Task Force in meeting its objectives.

Qualifications: Minimum • Degree in public health or a related field, or equivalent training/experience • Ability to manage councils, boards, or other advisory groups meetings (virtually and in- person) with strong facilitation skills • Ability to develop goals and evaluate programs • Excellent organization and presentation skills; strong networking abilities and communication skills (written and oral) • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database applications and tools (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, REDCap, Tableau)

Preferred • A Master of Public Health (MPH) is strongly preferred from an accredited college or university with advanced coursework in public health, epidemiology, and/or public administration • 1-4 years of experience working with public health programs, state or local public health departments • Knowledge, ability and experience in the methods of public health surveillance and the development and implementation of data analysis and evaluation plans • Experience in grant and budget management
