Position Description: Job Responsibilities The Tobacco Use Prevention Coordinator will assist the Chronic Disease Prevention team with executing community-wide strategies that prevent tobacco use. Job responsibilities may include: • Conducting outreach to community members, retailers, and CBOs to provide education and resources about T21 Law. • Collaborating with coalition to develop youth focused tobacco prevention efforts. • Providing technical assistance to support prevention of tobacco use, including e- cigarettes and emerging tobacco products and/or secondhand smoke exposure. • Partnering with school districts and/or college/university campuses to strengthen and/or adopt tobacco free policies. • Assisting with the launch of marketing initiatives. • Analyzing policies and making recommendations and connecting stakeholders or individuals to resources that facilitate healthy behaviors or help to create healthy communities.

Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one year’ experience performing work related to public health, public policy, or health administration and one year experience performing work related to area of assignment. Preferred Qualifications In addition to the minimum qualifications, preference will be given to applicants with at least one year of experience in public health education and community outreach. Familiar with chronic disease prevention programs, evaluation, needs assessment, policy development and management, and health equity.

The agency is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Tobacco Use Prevention Coordinator within the Fulton County Board of Health in the Chronic Disease Prevention Program. This is a grant funded position.
