Position Description: |
Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation (PIRE) is an independent, nonprofit organization merging scientific knowledge and proven practice to create solutions that improve the health, safety and well-being of individuals, communities, and nations around the world. The National Capital Region Center is searching for multiple Research Assistants to collect data for a project pending funding** that will be set in various areas in Kentucky. This part-time temporary position will work as a member of a research team collecting information from drivers at various selected roadside sites for a traffic safety project. Data collection will run up to 5 days at a time with 3 days/nights of data collection. Travel time is dependent on your origin location. Travel costs will be covered from a local departure point, including airfare, hotel, and per diem. The pay range for this temporary part-time position is position is $21.70-$25.33 per hour. **Pending Funding: We are waiting for approval of funds before this project can proceed. Proactive steps are being taken to begin recruiting for a quick turnaround if/when funds are granted. This role offers a blend of fieldwork, data collection, and team collaboration, with the flexibility of a part-time temporary position.
Some Primary Duties and Responsibilities • Conduct interviews with drivers and collect breath and oral fluid samples. • Maintain and organize collected materials. • Assist with traffic control and equipment preparation for surveys. • Support other aspects of data collection. • Attend required paid training.

Qualifications: |
• Must be at least 21 years old. • An Associate’s degree or equivalent (two years of University/College). • At least two years of experience in a research environment. • Preferred experience in field data collection, breathalyzer operation, and traffic management. • Must be organized, able to multitask, work independently and in a team, have an outgoing personality. • Be willing to travel with the data collection team to the survey sites in Kentucky. • Be willing to work during late- night/overnight hours, including paid overtime, if needed. • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19. • Eligible to work in the USA.
