Minimum Training & Qualifications
The position requires a vocational/technical school diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant (MA) program and one to three years’ related experience
If the incumbent is an MA, must meet American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) requirements and maintain state and professional certification requirements
Specialized Knowledge Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Competencies Proficient venipuncture skills
Basic understanding of computers, printers and other office equipment
Ability to navigate and use electronic health records and other data management systems
Ability to focus and demonstrate great attention to detail
Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team
Ability to utilize critical thinking skills to assess data and client/clinic needs
Ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures and policies, and to follow verbal and written instructions, guidelines and objectives
Flexibility and adaptability in a fast paced, frequently changing clinical environment.

Physical Requirements May have to physically assist/move patients. Must be physically able to operate a variety of office machines, such as a computer, printer, copy machine, facsimile machine, calculator, telephone, overhead projector, and VCR. Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials.
