Position Description: |
The East Tennessee State University (ETSU) College of Public Health is seeking applications for a nationally recognized leader to serve as Chair in the Department of Biomedical Health Sciences. The College is fully accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health. For over fifty years, the College has had a strong working relationship with a wide range of regional partners across the Appalachian Highlands, Tennessee, and the country. The College is one of five Colleges that make up ETSU Health. With a strong regional focus, rich history, and deep commitment to educational excellence, the department’s educational programs include a BS in Biomedical Health Sciences and a BS in Microbiology. Qualifications: |
Applicants should have a terminal degree (PhD, DSc, DrPH) in anatomy, physiology, microbiology, human health, or a terminal degree in a related field with extensive relevant experience. They should also possess a faculty history consistent with appointment as an associate or full professor in a department. Significant experience with conducting and developing extramurally funded research is required. The successful candidate should expect to maintain an active research and teaching program with the ability to work collaboratively within the College and University. Applicants must also have an interest in the broader implications of their research as it relates to policies and practices that impact human health. The ETSU College of Public Health is a frequent partner with the community, local and state government, and international organizations that are focused on providing public health training in areas of high need.
