Position Description: |
In the Perinatal and Cardiovascular Epidemiology (PACE) research group we work cross-disciplinary to improve our understanding of pregnancy complications, particularly preeclampsia, and cardiovascular disease. We also have a substantial methodological interest and expertise, which further adds variety to the research questions we pursue. The research group is led by Simon Timpka (Associate Professor in Clinical Epidemiology) and consists of >10 members, most of whom work part-time as clinicians. Our offices are located at the Clinical Research Center (CRC) in Malmö, next door to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Skåne University Hospital. We employ a full-time senior PhD statistician and many of our projects leverage large sets of registry-based and/or biomarker data. Our recent research output has resulted in publications in e.g. JAMA (Lawesson et al., 2023), Hypertension (Mattsson et al., 2024), and Journal of Internal Medicine (Enhörning et al., 2022).
You are expected to start working with statistical analyses and scientific reporting resulting in publications on pregnancy complications (particularly preeclampsia) and subsequent cardiovascular disease. All projects will initially be conducted in close collaboration with the principal investigator and our statistician. Ideal candidates for this position seek to both further develop their skills as a researcher and wish to work in a research group where their scientific abilities as well as personal qualities are valued. In order to thrive in our environment, you are eager to plan and develop your next career step under our mentorship.
