Minimum Training & Qualifications Training and qualifications for the position include the following:
Graduated from an accredited nursing school
Current and unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse
Minimum of two (2) years’ related experience
Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position may be considered to qualify for the position
Specialized Knowledge Must be trained and certified in cardio-pulminary resuscitation (CPR) at hire and maintain certification post-hire
Obtain certification in Association of Nurses in AIDS Care within one year of employment and maintain ongoing certification
Competencies The incumbent is required to possess the following competencies:

Ability to regularly solve difficult problems and occasionally for solving complex problems
Ability to engage in substantial communication with other Knox County Government employees and the public
Ability to use typical office equipment including a multi-line phone, photocopier, calculator, and fax machine
Ability to regularly use a desktop computer, laptop computer, printer, computer scanner, and PC projector
Ability to use the Microsoft Office suite of software programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Ability to navigate and use electronic health records and other data management systems
Ability to appropriately use a variety of medical devices
Ability to use tact to resolve issues
Physical Requirements This position requires the following physical abilities:
Occasional periods of moderate effort or frequent periods of light physical activity are required
