Position Description: The Peter O’Donnell Jr. School of Public Health (OSPH) at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is seeking dynamic applicants with an innovative research portfolio for Health Data Sciences and Biostatistics Faculty opportunities.

Ideal candidates will have a strong record of collaborative research, particularly in healthcare or academic medical center environments, and experience supporting investigators in study design, data analysis, publications, and statistical support for grant proposals. A PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field is required. Preference will be given to those with expertise in survey methods, predictive modeling, EHR data, or large population data analysis, such as Medicare Claims data. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with experience in medical imaging analysis, machine learning/AI, causal inference, or genomics. Expertise in developing statistical methods relevant to clinical research, including novel clinical trial designs and the analysis of large-scale EHR data, is highly desirable.

Qualifications: A Ph.D., Sc.D., DrPH, or equivalent research doctoral degree in biostatistics or closely related field (completed by start date). Demonstrated ability to conduct impactful scholarly research. Ability to mentor students and capacity for teaching excellence at the graduate level. Highly self-motivated individual, enthusiastic about scientific discovery and able to collaborate closely and effectively with other members of multidisciplinary research teams. Desire to partner with healthcare systems, public health agencies, and/or community organizations to conduct research aimed at enhancing the health of the people of Texas and beyond. Commitment to excellence in teaching and education. Commitment in collaboration in translational or clinical research. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Time management and multi-tasking.
