Are you passionate about supporting families and making a meaningful impact in your community? The Pima County Health Department is seeking a compassionate Public Health Program Specialists I to join our team of Home Visitors (HV) for the Health Start program.
This grant-funded position plays an essential role in delivering in-home education to expectant parents and families with young children. As a Home Visitor, you will provide guidance on prenatal and early childhood development topics, ensuring families receive the support and knowledge they need to thrive.
Beyond education, this position will also serve as a key liaison, connecting families to essential resources and services within the community. Home Visitors work under the direction of the Health Start Program Manager, contributing to the program’s mission of improving maternal and child health outcomes.

This is a renewable grant-funded position. The current contract ends June 2025.
Essential Functions:

Assists in organizing program activities, timelines, and resources to ensure smooth program execution;
Works collaboratively with program staff to carry out program objectives and deliverables;
Provides support in tracking program progress and maintaining documentation;
Participates in community outreach efforts and engagement activities to gather input to understand the needs of the community;
Supports the organization and facilitation of community meetings, workshops, and events;
Maintains program documentation, including progress reports, meeting minutes, and correspondence;
Provides administrative support to program managers and coordinators, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and preparing materials;
Handles routine administrative tasks as required;
Stays informed about public health best practices and trends through ongoing learning and training opportunities;
Seeks opportunities for professional growth within the public health field.
