Position Description: |
The Regional Disease Prevention Program Manager provides direction and oversight based on agency, program, regional, and local priorities and resources related to HIV, STD, hepatitis, harm reduction, and overdose prevention along with internal and external stakeholders within the Northeast Region.
Key responsibilities of the position include: - Providing direct supervision and oversight of Disease Prevention Team staff to achieve individual and overall Regional objectives; - Supporting activities for statewide and regional HIV, STD, hepatitis, harm reduction, overdose prevention, and other infectious disease - such as ensuring high-quality case investigation and partner services, outreach efforts, and disease reporting by community providers; - Collaborating and coordinating care for clients within NMDOH, community-based providers, and other health entities; and, - Ensuring timely and complete reporting related to federal grants and state priorities.

Qualifications: |
A Bachelor's degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of professional level experience operating within parameters and guidelines directly related to the purpose of the position.
Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling nine (9) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience with direct supervision, management and evaluation of staff.
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment.

The New Mexico Department of Health (NMHealth) Northeast Region Public Health Office provides services and support to individuals and communities in 10 counties: Santa Fe, Rio Arriba, Los Alamos, Taos, San Miguel, Mora, Guadalupe, Colfax, Union, and Harding.
This includes collaborating on emergency preparedness and response activities with external partners such as individuals, non-profit entities, healthcare delivery systems, and local, state, federal, and Tribal governmental agencies.
