The CDC Foundation seeks one or more experienced, full-time epidemiologists to support an Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) program. This role will analyze Hearing Screening and Follow-up Survey (HSFS) data and related EHDI information to surface important findings and share insights with partners. The epidemiologist may disseminate results to relevant audiences, provide direct technical assistance to state partners as helpful and learn more about relevant local conditions to contextualize any survey findings.
This is an outstanding opportunity to work with the nation’s lead agency charged with protecting the public's health. This position will collaborate with the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD) within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Atlanta-based candidates are strongly preferred. Relocation expenses are not provided. The CDC Foundation offers an attractive salary and benefits package. This is a full-time position funded through September 30, 2026 with the possibility of extension.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Explore, manage, and analyze HSFS and other EHDI data to monitor trends, review completeness, identify important insights, perform quantitative analysis, and communicate findings through dissemination products
2. As needed, provide technical assistance and support to state-level partners to help them translate data analysis findings into actionable strategies
3. Serves as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of public health and health communications professionals, researchers, and evaluators.
4. Prepares narrative reports, presentations, briefing documents, and other relevant communications to key internal and external partners in collaboration with colleagues.
5. Represents the CDC Foundation at technical meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
6. May travel domestically as needed to represent the designated programs and the CDC Foundation (up to 10% annually).
7. Participates in and/or leads special projects and other duties as assigned.
