Position Description: The Sociostructural Implementation Science Initiative (SISCI) serves as a national coordination hub that works with five NIH-funded R01 projects across the United States. The projects study structural and social determinants of health, as well as the structural interventions required to improve HIV prevention, treatment, and linkage to care. SISCI is responsible for: 1) assisting projects through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and expert consultation on dissemination and implementation science and sociostructural determinants of health models and methods; 2) data integration and analysis of implementation and effectiveness outcomes across projects; and 3) advancing the field of sociostructural interventions to reduce HIV disparities and application of dissemination and implementation science methods leading to sustainment and scale-up.

The Impact Institute within Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time non-tenure- eligible Research Assistant Professor to support ongoing research and coordination of SISCI. Responsibilities also include leading and supporting grant submissions and progress reports; overall program management; supervision of junior staff; providing support to facilitate data harmonization efforts; overseeing coordination of all activities with the R01s; assisting with the development of common data elements protocols; providing mentoring and educational activities; and fostering interdisciplinary research collaborations.

Qualifications: Qualified candidates will have a doctoral degree in psychology, public health, or other social-behavioral or health sciences fields; experience with and interest in mentoring junior staff and trainees; experience with research project administration; and experience with National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant writing. Candidates with demonstrated experience in social determinants of health, intervention development, and implementation/dissemination science, are strongly preferred.
