| Position Description: |
The Department of Environmental Medicine and Public Health Sciences (EMPHS) at the University of Rochester School of Medicine invites applications to fill three tenure- track faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. We seek candidates with a passion for research on how environmental, health systems, or societal factors shape human health and influence disease across the lifespan.
Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to pose and answer novel research questions, communicate complex concepts effectively, develop and maintain an extramurally funded research program, and have a strong record of peer-reviewed publications. Candidates will also be expected to participate in the teaching and service missions of the Department and affiliated programs, and contribute to collaborations and leading-edge research across disciplinary boundaries. Successful candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring and participate in departmental and affiliated education programs.

| Qualifications: |
All applicants must have a doctoral degree in Epidemiology or a closely related field, and have a strong emphasis on research design, epidemiological methods, and data/statistical analysis in their research. Applicants with interest in environmental exposures, aging, cancer, or neuroepidemiology are particularly encouraged to apply, although we will consider applicants with all areas of research focus.

| Organization Description: |
EMPHS includes 42 primary faculty whose expertise and interests span toxicology, environmental and public health sciences that transform discoveries into clinical practice, policy, and community-level change. The EMPHS Department administers several interdisciplinary research programs, including the Environmental Health Sciences Center, Institute for Human Health and the Environment, Lake Ontario Microplastics Center, Center for Inhalation and Flavoring Toxicology Research, and the Tobacco Cessation and Prevention Program. Faculty also lead programs in qualitative and mixed methods, dissemination and implementation, and community engagement related to improving health and health care delivery. The Department is home to graduate and postgraduate education programs, including a Preventive Medicine Residency, PhD programs in Toxicology, Epidemiology, and Health Services Research, as well as a Master of Public Health and Masters of Clinical Investigation, Epidemiology, and Health Services Research programs, and five Advanced Certificate programs. The Department environment is collaborative and welcomes different perspectives and encourages innovation. In addition to research and education, faculty lead numerous community-based clinical and non-clinical programs including the Aging Institute, Wilmot Cancer Institute, Del Monte Neuroscience Institute, Clinical and Translational Science Institute, and the Center for Community Health & Prevention.
