| Position Description: |
SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Director of Evaluation & Assessments, the Evaluation Analyst Intern will support program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives across a variety of public health programs and projects. This internship provides an opportunity for a current student to gain hands-on experience in program evaluation, data analysis, public health informatics, survey development, and reporting while contributing to a data dashboard project focused on vaccine- preventable diseases, the US Disease Tracker (USDT).
Working closely with evaluation, programmatic, and subject matter experts, the intern will assist with process and outcome evaluations, data collection and analysis, assessment development, continuous quality improvement efforts, and the creation of reports and presentations. The intern will also support the development, implementation, and evaluation of data dashboards and related data visualization tools designed to inform public health decision-making.
This position is ideal for a student interested in public health, epidemiology, evaluation, data analytics, informatics, workforce development, infectious diseases, surveillance, or related fields. Successful candidates will demonstrate initiative, intellectual curiosity, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Program Evaluation and Quality Improvement • Support the design and implementation of process, outcome, and performance evaluations for public health programs and initiatives. • Assist in developing evaluation plans, logic models, performance measures, and assessment tools. • Participate in continuous quality improvement and program monitoring activities. • Support evaluation efforts related to learning management systems, workforce development programs, trainings, and other organizational initiatives. • Assist with data collection, management, and analysis to inform program planning and improvement efforts. Dashboard and Data Analytics Support • Contribute to the evaluation of the implementation, testing, and maintenance of the USDT dashboard focused on vaccine- preventable diseases. • Assist with data validation, quality assurance, and documentation of USDT processes. • Support the evaluation of USDT data visualizations, performance metrics, and summaries that communicate findings to diverse audiences. • Collaborate with program staff to identify reporting needs and translate them into meaningful dashboard components and evaluation products. Survey and Assessment Development • Assist in the design, development, distribution, and analysis of surveys and assessments. • Utilize survey development software such as Qualtrics, MS Forms, or similar platforms. • Support survey testing, data cleaning, and interpretation of findings. • Develop survey summaries, presentations, and reports for internal and external stakeholders. Research, Reporting, and Communications • Conduct literature reviews and environmental scans to support evaluation projects and program initiatives. • Prepare written reports, data summaries, presentations, briefing materials, and other communication products. • Assist with drafting recommendations based on evaluation findings and data analyses. • Communicate professionally with members, partners, and staff regarding evaluation activities and project needs. Administrative and Organizational Support • Schedule and participate in meetings, conference calls, webinars, and project discussions. • Take meeting notes, track action items, and assist with follow-up activities. • Support meeting planning, project coordination, and documentation efforts. • Complete administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and KNOWLEDGE: • Must be a current undergraduate or graduate student • Preferred majors: Public Health, Epidemiology, Evaluation, or related field • Experience with data collection systems (Qualtrics, MS Forms, REDCap, SurveyMonkey) is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential • Familiarity with public health concepts, qualitative and quantitative analysis is preferred • Experience with assessment development, program evaluation, data coding, or related academic projects is a plus

CSTE’s pay structure is establish by grade with each position placed in a grade based on the level of difficulty, duties and responsibilities, knowledge and skill requirements, education and training, and qualifications. A new employee is usually hired at the minimum of the grade but commensurate with related job experience. See posting details for the grade hourly rate.
Hourly grade and rate: $15.00/hour fixed
Eligibility for telework or remote work: • Position based in Atlanta, GA and eligible for hybrid telework

This position is a grant funded position that may be time limited in nature and contingent upon continued funding. This position is currently funded through July 31, 2027 and may be funded longer dependent upon sufficient grant funding.
