Tenure faculty (regardless of rank) - persons with the titles of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor who serve on appointments totaling 50% or more service to the university and who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty member’s tenure initiation unit (TIU) and, as appropriate, regional campus; obligations will include research, service and/or teaching or clinical practice. These faculty will have earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study or possession of equivalent experience.

Position Overview The Division of Epidemiology in the College of Public Health at The Ohio State University invites well-qualified candidates with demonstrated expertise in epidemiology to apply for an open-rank (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor) tenure- track faculty position. We seek outstanding epidemiologists working across the full breadth of the discipline and welcome applicants from all substantive areas of epidemiology. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and collaborative group of faculty dedicated to advancing public health through innovative research, educating the next generation of public health professionals, and engaging in impactful service. The Division welcomes candidates with a research program in any substantive area of epidemiology, including but not limited to chronic disease, infectious disease, cancer, environmental and occupational health, genetic and molecular epidemiology, reproductive and perinatal health, community engaged research, social epidemiology, and health equity. The successful candidate should demonstrate (1) a record of rigorous and high-impact research and scholarship, appropriate for the rank sought, (2) potential for excellence in teaching and mentoring of public health students, and (3) commitment to the university’s shared values. Visa/immigration sponsorship may be available for qualified candidates. Rank and salary will be determined by the candidate’s credentials. The appointment will begin August 15, 2027. This position requires individuals to work onsite. Occasional remote work may be permitted, but not on a continuous, full-time basis.

Qualifications Education and Experience Requirements Required: • Doctoral degree in epidemiology or a closely related discipline. • A record of, or strong potential for, high-quality epidemiologic research and scholarship appropriate to the rank sought. • A record of, or strong potential for, successful independent teaching and mentoring of undergraduate and/or graduate students.

Desired: • Postdoctoral training and/or an emerging or established record of extramural research funding, commensurate with rank. • Evidence of successful collaboration with interdisciplinary research teams and/or community partners. • Experience mentoring graduate students and/or early-career colleagues.

Expectations by Rank: • Candidates will be evaluated according to accomplishments and potential appropriate to career stage and the rank sought: • Assistant Professor: Evidence of strong potential to establish an independent, impactful program of epidemiologic research, obtain extramural support, and contribute effectively to teaching and mentoring. • Associate Professor: An established record of nationally recognized impactful epidemiologic scholarship, research leadership and extramural support, and demonstrated excellence in teaching, mentoring and service appropriate to appointment at the associate professor level. • Professor: A sustained record of nationally and internationally recognized epidemiologic scholarship and research leadership, including sustained extramural support, together with a distinguished record of teaching, mentoring, service and professional contributions appropriate to appointment at the professor level.
