Location: Hartford, CT | Full?Time | First Shift | 35 Hours/Week

The Department of Public Health (DPH) is seeking a Health Program Associate to support the Facility Licensing and Investigations Section (FLIS). This role helps ensure healthcare facilities across Connecticut meet state and federal regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities: • Review and process reports and documentation submitted by licensed healthcare facilities • Develop, implement, and monitor regulatory protocols • Prepare reports, memos, and required documentation • Support investigations and maintain regulatory files • Perform additional duties that support licensing and oversight functions

Preferred Qualifications: • Experience interpreting and applying laws and regulations in a regulated setting, and knowledge of healthcare programs or facilities • Experience reviewing, evaluating, and interpreting information submitted under regulatory requirements • Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring policies and procedures • Experience preparing reports and using computer programs such as Microsoft Office, email, electronic medical records, and related systems • Experience working with data and developing databases

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SPECIAL EXPERIENCE One (1) year of the General Experience must have been in health care program administration, a health systems agency or other health care organization in at least one of the following areas:

-grant writing or monitoring; -formal program planning, development, management or evaluation; -program consultation; -public relations activities.

For state employees this experience is interpreted at the level of a Health Program Assistant 2.

NOTE: A health care organization is defined as a large multi-dimensional agency with responsibility for developing health programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED - College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree. - A Master's degree in health education, hospital administration, public administration, public health or other closely related field may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the General Experience.
