Position Description: The RIDR Coordinator works within the HIV Case Surveillance Program to conduct interstate review and resolution of potential duplicate cases of HIV/AIDS by contacting out-of-state surveillance units. Completes the bi-annual RIDR list and the Cumulative Interstate Duplicate Review (CIDR) list received from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) by documenting the results of duplicate case investigation in the RIDR and the CIDR tracking logs, and updating information into the enhanced HIV/AIDS Reporting System (eHARS) database. Also conducts within state review and resolution of duplicate records, out-of- state record searches by contacting other states’ HIV/AIDS surveillance units, and enters updated patient and lab information into the eHARS database, ensuring quality assurance (QA) and control of case surveillance data. Collaborates with the eHARS data Manager to develop, format, customize and review monthly data quality reports; investigates and resolves data quality issues; and consults with other HCSP staff as needed to help improve data quality. Conducts record searches in multiple confidential data systems, determines completeness and accuracy of information based on the HIV infection case definition, and updates eHARS database. Assists the team in updating/reviewing training materials, preparing meeting minutes, reports, and updating forms. Adapts to special situations, competing priorities, requests for special projects (e.g., death data review, import data review), and engages in internal and cross-team collaborations. Provides general administrative and clerical support to the Case Epidemiologists, and incorporates the agency’s security & confidentiality processes and procedures into daily responsibilities.

Qualifications: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A High School Diploma or GED; prior data entry experience. Knowledge of medical terminology, office practices, telephone etiquette, customer service, quality assurance and control techniques, and Microsoft Office. Excellent oral and writing communication skills. Ability to multi-task; establish and maintain positive working relationships; work independently and as a team member; work with multiple confidential data systems; maintain confidentiality while working with Protected Health Information; work 40 hours a week during regular business hours; adjust work hours, location, and job duties; and participate in training to meet public health business needs, including emergencies.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in public health or related field; technical certifications and/or experience; experience with data management such as data collection, analysis, tracking, documentation, quality assurance, and use of statistical software; experience working with healthcare or lab data; knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
