Position Description: The international department of the Trimbos Institute has an internship/practicum opening in academic writing in healthcare research. Tasks include but are not limited to assisting in writing reports, literature reviews, data analysis, and other tasks as assigned. If appropriate, co-authorship on journal articles will be offered.

The intern(s)/practicum students will work closely with the international department of the Trimbos Institute, an internationally- recognized research, policy, and health implementation institute. Staff at the international department of Trimbos work world-wide, including in low and middle income countries; TI shapes national policies on mental health, addiction, tobacco, and alcohol, oversees large-scale research and implementation programs, works closely with international partner institutions, and directly impacts healthcare in multiple arenas. The intern(s)/practicum students will have the opportunity to work with researchers and implementation specialists from many countries, learn how to best present information for multiple audiences, and gain skills in health communication, program implementation, and healthcare project management. Trimbos is a flexible working environment; the majority of the work for the internship/practicum can be done offsite via telework or work from home.

Qualifications: Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in EInternational Relations, Education, International Health or Public Health, preferably focused on the topics of mental health, addictions or tobacco control; Fluent in English, other languages considered as an asset; Good knowledge of public health covering mental health, health services, ageing, addictions, tobacco control; Excellent writing skills in English are required and must be demonstrated through prior writing samples/publications/reports; Interest in hands-on work including organization of trainings, congresses/ conferences, and fundraising; Basic research skills; and A ‘can-do’ attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
