Position Description: Black Hills Special Services Cooperative (BHSSC), in collaboration with the Public Health Informatics Team within the SD Department of Health, is listing this position, which will be located in Pierre, SD. As As a result, many projects have a primary in intent to serve our partners. We share de developments and expertise with our Federal, St State and local Health Department partners, ac actively seek to lead and support new in initiatives, organize and host exchange me meetings to facilitate these actions.

This temporary position in partnership with the Public Health Informatics Team based in the state offices in Pierre, SD will function as Public Health Informatics Business Analyst and Project Coordinator, to support new and existing informatics initiatives in the agency. This role will work closely with other information technology (IT) and epidemiology staff to: (1) analyze and present findings using syndromic surveillance and other data sources; (2) spearhead implementation of electronic case reporting (eCR) and (3) contribute to other informatics-related pr projects as needed within the Informatics Te Team.

This role will be responsible for managing, organizing, and leading large, complex projects resulting in statewide impact. The project will require multiple technology disciplines with significant business process re-engineering efforts, and the P Public Health Informatics Business Analyst a and Project Coordinator will be responsible f for all phases and processes of the p project. S/he will provide advice and c counsel regarding issues, risk, schedule, b budget, scope, changes, and communication a and business process changes. In addition, s s/he will be responsible for core s surveillance system development projects and c configuration changes needed to improve p program service delivery.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely related degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or a Bachelor’s degree in Bus Business Administration, Project Management or or closely related degree from an app appropriately accredited institution and one yea year of experience in IT project management or or technical project management related wor work; or an equivalent combination of edu education and experience.

Preference given to candidates with Master's d degree in Health or Medical Informatics, E Epidemiology, Health Information Systems, or a a closely related health field from an a appropriately accredited institution and two y years of related experience; OR, bachelor's d degree in a closely related health or s science field from an appropriately a accredited institution and four years of e experience in epidemiology or health i informatics; or an equivalent combination of e education and experience.

Organization Description: BHSSC, a public entity, is governed by a board composed of elected school board members, representing twelve South Dakota public school districts that are committed to shared services. Programs are available to non-member school districts, as well.

In addition to services for people and organizations, BHSSC stands for sound fiscal responsibility and efficiency. These s services are delivered through six o organization divisions.
