Position Description: Miami University (Oxford) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Infectious Disease Epidemiology to start August 2018. This position will support our new Bachelor of Arts in Public Health degree, and is housed in the Department of Microbiology. A successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in upper-level epidemiology and introductory microbiology; develop an externally funded research program in areas of infectious disease epidemiology (laboratory or field based) involving both undergraduate and graduate students; achieve an excellent record of publication in peer-reviewed journals; and carry out service to the university.

Required: doctoral degree in Epidemiology or in a related field by date of appointment.

Consideration may be given to those candidates with evidence of past research accomplishments with a strong potential to obtain extramural funding; background in epidemiology or public health; the ability to achieve excellence in teaching and mentoring; and a willingness to contribute to curricular development.
