The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Regional Coordinator directs the implementation of §256 Wis. Stats, and Chapters DHS 110, Wis. Admin. Code, as they relate to training, licensure, certification, quality assurance and regulation of Paramedic (EMT-P), Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) and EMT- Intermediate (EMT-I) EMT-Basic (EMT-B) and first responders (FR).
This position is responsible for:
The development and support of EMT-P, AEMT, EMT-I, EMT-B and FR services and provide technical assistance to such systems and training centers in achieving compliance.
Assisting in complaint investigations and recommending disciplinary actions as needed to ensure compliance by all licensed services and provideing technical assistance and consultation to other EMS staff in matters related to EMT-P, AEMT, EMT-I, EMT-B and FR skills and training.
Applying statutory standards in developing and enforcing administrative rules governing EMT-P, EMT-AEMT, EMT-I, EMT-B and FR and training centers statewide.
Being the primary contact for all EMT-P, EMT- AEMT, EMT-I, EMT-B and FR related services in Wisconsin and have independent responsibility for these functions.
Biennial licensure/certification of all EMT-P, AEMT, EMT-I, EMT-B and FR personnel.
Providing consultative and technical assistance to state, regional, and local governmental entities, ambulance providers and hospitals in their retrospective system planning and operations.
