Position Description: The Program Director plans and coordinates all Strategic Prevention Framework activities for Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services (SAMHSA) State Prevention Enhancement Planning Grant. Specifically, oversees the development of a model inter-tribal strategic plan to address and enhance substance abuse and mental health prevention services. Daily attendance is an essential function of this position. Principal Duties: Being familiar with the Strategic Prevention Framework, SAMHSA’s Initiative goals and SPE specific goals, develop and facilitate an inter-tribal Policy Consortium which will develop two products: 1) A Capacity/Infrastructure Enhancement Plan and 2) continue a five-year comprehensive Strategic Plan to address Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health Prevention that is culturally relevant and appropriate. *Collaborate with Substance Abuse Epidemiologist staff in maintaining a Tribal Epidemiological Workgroup. *Work with the Tribal Epidemiological Workgroup and Behavioral Health Epidemiologist to coordinate and provide technical assistance related to building capacity at an inter-tribal and individual tribal level for data collection and storage methods for behavioral health and substance abuse data. *Collaborate with the WI State grantee and other appropriate state agencies to assist in prevention planning. *Collaborate with the external evaluator, to develop and support an inter-tribal model for substance abuse prevention evaluation process and methodology. *Collaborate with other internal prevention programs to develop technical assistance capacity at the organization level. *Implement and coordinate a Data Repository according to grant guidelines. *Prepare required reports according to SAMHSA guidance. *Collect, file, compile and archive project documentation.

This is a full time exempt position working Mon-Fri at the main worksite in Lac du Flambeau, WI. The starting range for salary is $48,000 to $65,000 per year with benefits including; Annual/Personal Leave and Holiday Pay; Health, Dental, Life & AD&D, STD and LTD Insurance, FSA and 403(b) Retirement Plan.

Qualifications: Required: Master’s Degree in Social Work or similar field; or four to ten years related experience and/or training. AODA certification or equivalent experience in AODA prevention programming. Desired: Experience with a Native American Tribal organization and/or not-for-profit agency. Experience in field of substance abuse prevention programming and project management preferred. Individual should understand the Strategic Prevention Framework as well as risk/protective factors. Individual must possess: strong project management skills, knowledge of AODA prevention techniques and methodologies, effective and positive communication and interpersonal skills; professional demeanor and appearance; problem solving skills; ability to manage time effectively; self-motivation skills; work effectively under pressure; ability to work independently or with a group, ability to build positive work relationships with internal and external customers; ability to interact professionally with a wide variety of people; speak in front of groups, ability to produce usable products. Individual must be able to apply advanced reasoning skills to problem solving and use basic mathematical skills. Must possess valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation with adequate insurance and ability to travel.
