Position Description: The Legislative and Regulatory Analyst directs the Coalition’s policy and advocacy initiatives in close collaboration with the C-TAC Senior Policy Advisor (Andrew MacPherson) and Chief Strategy Officer (Mollie Gurian) National Partnership for Hospice Innovation.

Duties include:

• Manage communication with Policy & Advocacy Workgroup participants and C-TAC membership on policy & advocacy; • Manage Regulatory Task Force - schedule calls, develop content, create agendas, maintain communication with participants; • Serve as liaison with other C-TAC program staff and incorporates relevant findings from the Advanced Care Project and Community Action Project into federal and state policy agenda(s); • Work closely with Senior Policy Advisor to manage the 20-member advocacy task force or “SWAT Team” to drive the Coalition’s policy priorities; • Work closely with the Senior Regulatory Advisor (Marian Grant) to maintain a calendar of upcoming regulatory comment dates and to manage the regulatory task force to drive C-TAC’s policy priorities • Cultivate relationships with Capitol Hill staff and Administration officials and manage and direct the Congressional outreach plan; • Conduct research and analysis of current and past legislation and regulation related to advanced illness and end-of-life care and attend congressional hearings; • Collaborate with Hill staff to revise and improve legislation, offer policy recommendations, and gather stakeholder support for relevant bills; • Monitor legislative and regulatory activities and draft letters and statements in response to relevant policy developments; • Become expert on the MACRA payment sections; • Work closely with other groups with similar interests and organize Hill briefings and roundtables to promote the Coalition’s work; • Assist Executive Director and Senior Policy Advisor in presenting at Hill briefings and meetings; • Provide organizational and administrative support as needed.

Qualifications: • Strong research, writing, and communication skills • Strong interest in advanced illness and end-of-life issues • Close attention to detail • Interest in the non-profit sector • Bachelor’s degree and preferably 2- 3 years working in health policy
