Job Title: Associate Public Health Consultant
Job Number:
Organization: Scientific Technologies Corporation
Posted: 3/3/2018
Type: Full-Time
Number of Openings: 1
Location: Phoenix,  AZ
Position Description: There are tens of thousands of flu-related deaths each year. There are new measles cases occurring when it had been all but eradicated. Whooping cough still kills the young. The impact of pneumonia, cervical cancer, and many more diseases are diminished through the use of vaccines, public health prevention programs, and data intelligence. The battle is fought every day to ensure that communities are prepared, proactive, and empowered for any event or outbreak, from bioterrorism and newly emerging disease, such as the Zika virus, to the old diseases that never left.

Make an impact and join us in this fight at the front lines. As an Associate Public Health Consultant, you will be responsible for developing and implementing knowledge transfer material, strategies to improve process workflow and services that enhance important public health initiatives such as immunization registry programs, interoperability and more. You will be a key team member in supporting intelligence solutions for a healthier future - for you, your family and community.

What You Will Do You'll demonstrate your Public Health subject matter expertise by working with colleagues in local and state government to help identify ways to use information systems in support of public health outcomes and achievement of their program goals. To accomplish this, you may: • Analyze their workflows to find where they could improve efficiency by using our products • Assist in conducting and writing gap analysis to better public health services • Meet on-site with clients to conduct training and provide technical assistance on our applications

You'll work closely with HL7 interfaces – installing, configuring and implementing them.

You'll also sharpen your project management abilities by creating and implementing project plans.

Additionally, you'll assist with product testing by creating test scripts and executing test plans.

Finally, you'll develop training materials (through documentation and other creative vehicles), to enhance our clients' understanding of our products and HL7 messaging.

About You ? You have exceptional listening and communication skills, giving you the ability to present complex public health concepts and solutions to stakeholders from a diverse range of business roles ? You approach learning with an analytical eye, often teaching yourself new concepts, and are able to assimilate applications and new subject matter information quickly and effectively into your daily tasks ? You are highly self-motivated, and known to regularly take the initiative to dig into issues and research solutions independently – before they become problems for your clients ? Above all, you want to exceed your clients' expectations, so you rely on your strong attention to detail and organization skills to validate software adherence to their requirements ? You understand how valuable face-time is with your clients, and you are willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time ? You can easily rock out polished documents in Microsoft Office and Excel ? You have either a Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, natural science, health technology (or a related field); or a Certificate in Public Health/Public Health Informatics with 1-2 years' experience in applied public health to include service within a local, state or federal agency or medical practice (we will consider any combination of these qualifications) ? You will really impress us if all of the above apply and you have experience with immunization interoperability and HL7 messaging or detailed technical message specifications, working with immunization programs, and/or working with EHR vendors and interfaces ? You will work in our Phoenix, AZ headquarters, however we are willing to consider qualified candidates in Washington state

About Us After nearly 30 years in traditional "old- school" corporate-style offices in Scottsdale and Tucson, we just relocated to downtown Phoenix's hip and creative Warehouse District. We completed a massive renovation of an empty warehouse space, and are excited to be a part of this dynamic and innovative area. We have a brand-new, open- office layout with an urban feel and lots of room for collaboration and inspiration to feed all the great ideas that start here.

We work hard, and we like to have fun doing it. You can join our kickball team, push your Fitbit step count in company challenges, volunteer in the community, and just be yourself – all within a cool casual environment (go ahead and wear those shorts and flip flops, if that's what you like!).

Benefits? Ours are outstanding. We'll cover 90% of your medical plan premiums, provide you with a life insurance plan, and cover disability benefits. You can enroll in our 401(k) plan, and earn free money with our company match. You can also take advantage of our great dental, vision, flexible spending accounts and health savings accounts. We offer amazing paid time off – 4 weeks to start – and 12 paid holidays on top of that.

We are on a mission to provide intelligent solutions for a healthier future, and we are passionate about creating healthy communities worldwide. Help us save lives – join our team!
