Position Description: Responsibilities: Provide administrative and fiscal oversight for all grants and contracts awarded to the Bureau of Cancer Epidemiology (BCE). Develop and implement a management system to ensure timely and quality submission of all grant/contract deliverables. Function as the initial Bureau contact with HRI and Division regarding grant/contract budgets. Provide administrative oversight for New York State Cancer Registry (NYSCR) studies and data requests. Provide guidance, oversight, and technical assistance to BCE staff applying for new programmatic and/or research funding as well as to external investigators preparing grant applications that involve Bureau or NYSCR resources.

Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and three years of administrative experience involving personnel, fiscal and/or operations management in a public health, health regulatory, or human service related program; Associate's and five years; OR seven years of such experience. At least one year of experience must have included supervision of staff and/or program management. A Master's degree may substitute for one year of general experience. Preferred Qualifications: Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Financial Systems and Microsoft Outlook 365; experience in developing and monitoring budgets; basic knowledge of statistics and ability to convey data results in written/verbal communications; excellent written/communication/project management skills; and ability to work independently/manage multiple concurrent assignments and priorities. Background in public health and prior research experience highly desirable; experience administering research grants; familiarity with various funder application requirements (e.g., CDC, NIH, American Cancer Society).
