The Program Analyst, Health Care Cost and Delivery works with the Vice President, Director and other team members of the Health Care Cost and Delivery team to identify and develop solutions to large employers’ health care cost and employee engagement challenges. The Program Analyst is responsible for assisting the team with staffing member committees, developing tools and resources to support member companies in controlling costs, engaging employees in their health and health care, and contributing to conference planning. This position is based in Washington, DC.

Primary Responsibilities

• Write issue briefs, prepare toolkits, conduct webinars and produce other resources and publications for member companies. Requirements include researching, summarizing, interviewing members, translating and occasionally creating health information and solutions for employers and employee audiences. • Work with other team members to plan and support the Institute on Health Care Costs and Solutions Board and Committee work, in particular the National Committee on Pharmacy Benefits and Specialty Medicine; the Payment and Delivery Reform: Employer and Health Plan Committee; and National Committee on Evidence-Based Benefit Design, including content planning, deliverable development and meeting coordination and logistics. • Participate in content planning with the Health Care Cost and Delivery team for annual Employers’ Summit on Health Care Costs and Solutions. Work closely with team members and Events staff on handling logistics and developing marketing materials. • Demonstrate the ability to research and respond to member questions working within tight deadlines and across the organization as appropriate. • Manage a wide range of assigned projects from concept to completion on time and with minimal-moderate supervision. • Identify opportunities for the Institute to grow, add value proven services, and better serve the membership. • Effectively collaborate with other staff across the organization on high quality deliverables with member value. • Represent the Institute and the National Business Group on Health at external meetings and ensure appropriate follow up. • Contribute to the overall mission of the organization and member recruitment and retention through excellent customer service. • Communicate effectively and with minimal supervision with all contacts internal and external to the Business Group. • Display high professional and personal standards in all aspects of work and handle sensitive information confidentially. • Assist the President/CEO, Chief Strategy Officer, Vice President, and other staff members with special projects as needed.

Qualifications: Qualifications

• Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in health management, health communications/marketing, public health or related field. May substitute significant work experience in employee benefits or benefits consulting. • 1-2 years’ experience in employee benefits or an organization working with employers, health plans, pharmacies or hospitals and other providers. • Experience with health care management, payment and delivery methods or pharmacy a strong plus. • Self-starter with a strong work ethic. • Fluent in written and spoken English.

Individual should have: • Demonstrated ability to determine goals, set priorities, measure progress and handle multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced work environment. • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills. • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. A writing sample will be required from top candidates. • Excellent internal and external customer and member service skills, having the ability to interact with funding partners, colleagues, member companies, and potential members. • Strong organization skills and be organized, detail oriented, and thorough. • The ability to be resourceful and creative in finding and using relevant information. • The ability to work effectively on team projects and be self-motivated and experienced in making independent judgments within the context of established policies and procedures. • Demonstrated ability to learn new subject matter quickly and become conversant on the subject. • High professional standards and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially. • Highly computer literate, with demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite software.

Desired Skills:

• Experience using WebEx and Zoom. • Knowledge of Microsoft CRM a plus.
