Position Description: The Policy Analyst will assist in the development and analyses of policy issues for consideration by the Exchange Board, Executive Leadership Team, and Policy Team to expand access to affordable health insurance to Washington residents. The Policy Analyst will analyze and interpret federal and state laws and regulations. The Policy Analyst will use independent judgment and often work in inter-departmental teams to prepare policy options and recommendations critical to advancing quality health coverage and improving Washington Washington Healthplanfinder design.


Based on research, data, discussion with state-based marketplaces and other stakeholders, and knowledge of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the Policy Analyst will analyze state and federal health policy issues and respond to policy related questions from internal and external audiences.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in public health, public ad administration, health policy, public po policy, or related field.

Three years of experience in health policy, public administration, or public policy. Each year of post-graduate education can be s substituted for a year of experience.

Organization Description: The Washington Health Benefit Exchange is a public-private partnership that operates the Washington Healthplanfinder, the online eligibility and enrollment portal used by one in four Washington residents to obtain health and dental coverage. Washington Healthplanfinder Healthplanfinder allows users to compare and en enroll in health insurance coverage and gain ac access to tax credits, reduced cost sharing, an and public programs such as Medicaid.
