IHRC, Inc. provides scientific, information management, management consulting, bioinformatics, and administrative program support to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other Federal and private sector clients. The successful candidate will be a full-time employee of IHRC, Inc., and will be assigned to the Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention (DHDSP) in the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP) at CDC, 4770 Buford Highway NE, Atlanta, GA, to provide support for the DHDSP.

SCOPE OF WORK

The Public Health Analyst will provide support for the scientific and program management objectives of the Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention, primarily those of the Million Hearts Program.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the project coordinator for projects being done in collaboration with Million Hearts partner organizations.
  • Coordinate conference calls and follow up on action items to ensure project objectives are being met according to program guidelines.
  • Compile and disseminate to senior leadership state-specific information related to project accomplishments.
  • Assemble and organize handout materials for MH senior leadership briefings, and meeting materials to be used at Quarterly leadership "Council (QLC) meetings, Community Health Worker Policy and Programming meetings, and briefings with HHS Chief of Staff and the CDC Director.
  • Revise briefing schedules and draft agendas for future briefings with senior leadership.
  • Monitor and document progress made towards meeting quarterly targets, while working with team lead to develop quarterly milestones.
  • Manage the development and clearance of the Million Hearts® Snapshots and contribute to publication activities, and manage the clearance of Snapshots for publication.
  • Work with senior staff and senior leadership to prepare presentation materials, including slides and talking points for presentation to external organizations.
  • Manage weekly Divisional MH (MAD) meetings.
  • Coordinate meetings with external organizations such as Indian Health Services (IHS) to align the AAIP project with IHS efforts to improve hypertension control among American Indians.

Qualifications: p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS  

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • Master of Public Health degree with at least three years of relevant experience and an interest in chronic disease. Background or coursework in research methods is highly desired. 
  • Must possess applicable experience in areas such as health administration, public health and/or health care administration, and project management.
  • Experience must include participation in the analysis of public health, or clinical, research data.
  • Demonstrated experience in science/research translation for different audiences, e.g. clinicians, public health professionals, payers, employers.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate science/research through different modes, e.g. guides and other technical assistance resources, quality improvement tools, manuscripts, infographics, LMs.
  • Solid experience using PubMed or similar resource; familiarity with the Cochrane Collaborative and other systematic reviews and meta analyses.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, always ensuring precision and accuracy of facts.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, willingness to work in a high-pressure atmosphere.

Desirable:

  • Additional specific experience related to heart disease and stroke prevention or the management of chronic conditions.

Language Skills:

  • The candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English, and be familiar with the vocabulary of chronic health research.
