Position Description: We have an immediate opening in our Albuquerque, NM office for a 60% Research Associate to work with the Research team on projects funded by the New Mexico Office of Substance Abuse Prevention. This Associate will provide project management and support to several evaluation projects looking at opioid and alcohol prevention across the state. Bilingual Spanish writing and speaking is strongly desired. Previous experience providing supervision of research tasks, interviewers or field staff during the data collection process is highly desirable. The right candidate for this position must be able to work on site in our Albuquerque office (no relocation).

Some Primary Duties and Responsibilities Work with local and state prevention staff Assist in the collection of data Help create data collection instruments Assist in writing study protocols Conduct trainings Assist with data entry, analysis, table and graph development • Assist with report writing, presentations, and copy editing of documents • Assist with maintaining a website • Maintain monthly progress reports • Communications via phone calls and email

Qualifications: A masters degree is preferred, MPH, MA, MS or a Bachelor’s degree and 1 – 2 years training and experience in applied research projects or public health project management Experience in public health research or project management in a public health setting Working knowledge of commonly used software, such as Word and Excel Excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to work independently and implement several simultaneous project activities Willing to learn Self-motivated Ability to work independently but able to ask for help and clarification when needed Must be able to manage multiple tasks and competing demands Must be able to meet deadlines Must have excellent writing skills with some experience with scientific writing and/or copy editing experience Great attention to detail while still being able to work well with others when needed Familiarity using SPSS or other analytical software is desired Bilingual Spanish writing and speaking is strongly desired
