Position Description: Job Description

The Quality Improvement Specialist works within the Quality Department and throughout the organization to support the provision of excellent, innovative, and holistic healthcare to the poor and marginalized. This role promotes evidence-based coordinated care, effective operations, and fiscal stewardship though the following responsibilities:

•Collecting and analyzing data from various sources (e.g. electronic health records, client surveys, operational data) •Planning and coordinating activities/initiatives aimed at improving the health of clients and supporting the effective, efficient, and safe provision of services •Reporting on outcomes and improvement initiatives in a way that is understandable and operable to the intended audience •Assessing and promoting data integrity •Acting as a liaison to other departments regarding outcome metrics, data analysis, improvement strategies, and evaluation of results •Participating in and planning for both the interdisciplinary Quality Council and the Quality Committee of the Board of Directors; including agenda setting and minutes •Serving as a lead in Mercy Care's Patient Centered Medical Home activities and future initiatives at promote clinical quality •Supporting the peer review process and risk management activities

Job Requirements

•Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Georgia •Clinical background or exposure is essential. Experience in a public health setting, community health center, and/or FQHC preferred •Proficiency with collecting, reviewing, analyzing, and presenting data •Comfortable using data to drive change/improvement •Adept with word processing, spreadsheet development, and data management •Exceptional written and oral communication skills •Ability to engage, network with, and collaborate with others, both inside and outside of the organization •Ability to work with minimal supervision; organized, attentive to detail, driven •Preference given to those experienced with Crystal Reports, Business Objects, and/or SQL
