IHRC, Inc. provides scientific, information management, management consulting, bioinformatics, and administrative program support to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other Federal and private sector clients.  The successful candidate will be a full-time employee of IHRC, Inc. and will be assigned to the Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention (DHDSP), National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP), at CDC’s Chamblee Campus, 4770 Buford Hwy, Atlanta, Georgia, to provide support for the DHDSP.

SCOPE OF WORK

The Health Policy Analyst will provide services to satisfy the overall administrative operational objectives for the Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention (DHDSP). This will include providing on-site technical assistance, consultation, and operational management support to carry out assignments associated with the activities of DHDSP.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Routinely provide responses to partnership and policy requests in support of assigned branches and programs.
  • Provide briefings to management on the status of key policy and partnership activities in support of assigned branches and programs.
  • Draft talking points and key messages tailored to different audiences, including decision makers, partners, and the public.
  • Develop partnership materials for state and local health departments, clinicians, and non-profits involved in heart disease and stroke prevention.
  • Maintain partnership and legislative tracking systems and tools.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field required. Master of Public Health degree (or Master's in Public Affairs/Policy or related field with a health focus) desirable, but not required
  • 4 years' minimum work/research experience with 1 or more years of experience in public health policy and/or health communications
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Strong collaborative background
  • Public health background
  • Chronic disease background (particularly heart disease) is desirable, but not required

Language Skills:

  • The candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English   

REQUIREMENT:

  • Must be United States citizen or permanent resident or have authorization for employment in the United States

SALARY:  Commensurate with qualifications and experience
