Position Description: Purpose of Position: This position will provide epidemiology support to the Department of Health's, Healthcare Associated Infections (HAI) Program, by providing capacity to ensure the quality of HAI surveillance and prevention. Incumbent will conduct independent, on-site, inf infection control assessment in healthcare fac facilities, as part of a larger effort to imp improve infection control infrastructure and pra practices in the healthcare system, and res respond to outbreaks or antimicrobial res resistant infections. As a member of an int interdisciplinary team of epidemiologists, the the successful candidate will work to imp improve surveillance activities to monitor ant antimicrobial resistance and emergence of res resistance. Incumbent will conduct case inv investigations and interviews, perform core sur surveillance activities and serve as part of the the day call team. Primary activities will inc include, conducting daily reviews of ele electronic laboratory data and other case rep reporting methods to identify potential HAI or or antimicrobial resistance cases, clusters or or outbreaks; implementing appropriate pub public health response and containment str strategies; engaging targeted settings of car care in infection prevention activities; med medical chart review and abstraction; imp improving surveillance, response and rep reporting initiatives by the formulation and dis dissemination of written protocols for rep reporting, case investigation and laboratory tes testing for both internal and external par partners; and conducting infection pre prevention assessments. Ensure HAI sur surveillance and data collection practices are are being uniformly implemented in order to ach achieve comprehensive reporting and col collection of surveillance data.

Qualifications: Minimum Qualification Master's degree in Public Health, Epidem Epidemiology, Sciences, Social Sciences, or Statis Statistics and two (2) years in Public Health Health to include data analysis and linking method methodology.
