Purpose: This position serves as the MIHIP (Mother Infant Health Improvement Plan) project coordinator for the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and will be responsible for the coordination of all daily duties related to the MIHIP. This position will work on various MIHIP related projects and provides support for the Bureau of Family Health Services as assigned. This position performs a variety of complex MIHIP related activities and works directly with the Senior Maternal Child Health Strategist to coordinate plan activities and development needs.
Duties and Responsibilities: • Assist conference coordinator for the upcoming Michigan Maternal Infant Health Summit • Schedule meetings and prepare meeting materials • Assist with coordinating logistics and planning of regional meetings for promotion and implementation of the MIHIP • Ensure project development tasks and activities are on schedule and provide a weekly status report to the Senior Maternal Child Health Strategist • Assist with updating MIHIP website and materials review and development • Review and assist with updating program training materials for participants and sponsors • Prepare materials, data and information to assist State and local staff • Other duties as assigned by the Senior Maternal Child Health Strategist
Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred; at least 2 years of college required
Experience: Conference or meeting planning experience. Public health experience preferred.
Important Skills and Characteristics: • Analytical thinking and logical deduction skills • Excellent oral and written communication and ability to work as a member of a team • Knowledge of systems and computer software, use of a computer, general understanding of data processing is highly recommended. • Knowledge and experience in project management skills is highly recommended.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Standard office environment with general office duties
