Position Description: The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the Dornsife School of Public Health invites applicants for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Epidemiology. The successful applicant will have a doctoral degree in epidemiology or a related field. We value diversity among the members of our Department and seek applicants who are committed to community-engaged, collaborative, interdisciplinary research, consistent with the mission of our School. Researchers in all areas of epidemiology are encouraged to apply. Successful applicants must demonstrate strong potential for securing external funding, and experience/potential for high quality teaching and mentoring. The Department currently offers MPH, MS, and PhD degrees in Epidemiology, MS and PhD degrees in Biostatistics, and a Master’s of Science in Population Health Sciences, and the School offers a BS in Public Health. The Department has 26 faculty spanning our two core disciplines and is truly interdisciplinary. Research funding for the Department comes from NIH, NSF, CDC, and other federal and state agencies, as well as private foundations and industry. Faculty expertise in Epidemiology includes infectious diseases and HIV/AIDS, environmental epidemiology, cardiovascular disease epidemiology, urban health, social epidemiology and more. We are soliciting applications from candidates with expertise in all areas of epidemiology.


Organization Description: The Dornsife School of Public Health at Drexel University is a CEPH-accredited School of Public Health in Philadelphia, and recently received a $45 million gift to expand the faculty and build new research and educational programs. Under the leadership of Dean Ana Diez Roux, the School has entered a period of growth with new faculty being recruited to each Department.
