This position provides research and analysis of deceased beneficiaries’ estates for the Estate Recovery Program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Prepare reports and correspondence seeking reimbursement of Medicaid expenditures from the estates of deceased beneficiaries. • Conduct research to identify property and assets owned by the beneficiary at the time of death. • Conduct research to identify open probate estates for deceased beneficiaries. • Conduct research to identify property and assets that may have been fraudulently divested during the beneficiary’s lifetime. • Assist in testing new database functions and provide enhancement recommendations. • Assist with the development of Section protocols, reporting mechanisms, auditing methodology, and compliance measurements. • Assist with other Section tasks and cases as needed.
Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree in any major, or equivalent experience in a setting that applies to the function of this position.
Important Skills and Characteristics: • Ability to interpret and apply complex laws, rules, and regulations. • Ability to communicate with others, both verbally and in writing. • Ability to review and analyze written material. • Ability to compose memos, letters, and reports. • Experience in probate court or other legal setting is beneficial.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements: General office setting.
Responsibility for the Work of Others: No assigned responsibility.
