Position Description: The position is one of four that form the Dallas team of the full-time staff dedicated to the Molecular HIV Surviellance Project, which is an HIV surveillance public health surveillance program component. These positions work collaboratively with the Texas Department of State Health Services HIV/STD/TB/Viral Surveillance programand CDC. This position is responsible for contacting participants for disease intervention by conducting interviews, re-interviews and cluster interviews of HIV/STD patients. Conducts case management activities and accurately enters cases into STD management software. Conducts field investigation activities in accordance with DSHS DIS performance standards. Conduct partner notifications and consults with local agencies. Conducts follow interviews and cluster interviews of HIV/STD patients. Conducts case management activities and accurately enters cases into STD management software. Conducts field investigation activities in accordance with DSHS DIS performance standards. Conduct partner notifications and consults with local agencies. Conducts follow interviews and cluster interviews of HIV/STD patients patients. Conducts follow-up with healthcare providers, laboratories, and healthcare agencies to identify cases, ensure timely treatment/diagnosis and reporting. Position will travel 50%.

•Recommends and/or initiates new or modified p procedures and techniques based upon latest d developments in assigned field or analysis o of research data. •Performs computer programming for a accumulation and analysis of research data. •Designs, constructs, repairs, or modifies e electronic and/or mechanical equipment or a apparatus used in experiments and research p projects. •Instructs medical students, graduate s students, residents, or other laboratory p personnel of lower grade with respect to t techniques, procedures, and equipment u utilized in research or experiments. •Assists principal investigator and other p professional personnel in writing of reports a and papers for publication. •May provide working supervision to e employees of lower grade engaged in p performance of variety of difficult and c complex laboratory work tasks. •Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Master's degree with major coursework in fi field of assignment and three (3) years of la laboratory experience including at least two ye years at level of Research Assistant II or eq equivalent. Bachelor's degree with major coursework in f field of assignment and four (4) years of l laboratory experience including two years at l level of Research Assistant II or e equivalent.
