Purpose: Under the direction of the Director of Affiliate Services (DAS), serve as a Financial Analyst to the Affiliate Services Program. Duties include: budget preparation; monitoring expenditures; analyzing accounts; producing financial reports; and performing a variety of accounting/financial related tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities: • Reviews financial reports and ensures allocated funds meet grant requirements. • Conducts monthly budget meetings or email report with program staff to analyze costs, project future expenditures, and minimize lapse funding. • Processes accounts payable/receivable, purchase orders, expense reimbursements/advances, and subcontractor payments and ensures timely submission to the Finance & Contracts office for payment. • Serves as a financial liaison to MPHI Finance & Contracts office. Ensures compliance with MPHI financial policies and procedures. • Performs account analysis and reconciliation for all accounts and communicates directly with the Program Director on any identified issue. • Identifies and investigates inaccuracies within project accounts and works with staff to correct inaccuracies. • Researches, prepares and verifies a variety of financial data in order to provide information, strategies and recommendations on accounts. • Develops budgets and budget narratives for new projects and amends current project budgets as needed. • Develops and tracks Sub-Contracts, Letters of Agreements, and amendments and communicates directly with subcontractors when necessary. • Troubleshoot in the areas of accounts payable, employee expense reimbursements/advances, contract regulations and subcontracts content to ensure quality assurance and compliance with grant agreements, proposals and project budgets. • Maintains advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel. • Maintains a high level of professionalism and integrity; treats program information as confidential. • Maintains a positive, strong, credible, professional and interpersonal relationship with all parties relevant of MPHI projects, and represent the best interest of MPHI at all times. Qualifications/Requirements:
Education: Possession of a Bachelor Degree in accounting/finance.
Experience: A minimum of three years related experience in accounts payable, budget compliance, record keeping, financial report preparation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to work as a member of a team is also important. Demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities with attention to detail; be self- motivated and a team player.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Job may require moderate physical effort including lifting materials and equipment of <50# and involves viewing a CRT or VDT screen 25% to 75% of the time. Standard office environment. May require valid vehicle operator’s license where needed to perform duties of the position.

IMPACT ON PROJECTS, SERVICES AND OPERATIONS: As a key member of the Affiliate Services staff, the financial analyst is responsible for an efficient flow of financial services. This position ensures that the needs of the staff and clients are met in a timely, accurate manner and that the financial systems are handled with attention to detail and integrity. The extent to which these duties are accomplished will dictate the extent to which the program is effective.
