Position Description: OB DESCRIPTION

The CDC Foundation seeks candidates for a full time Physician to support the CDC. This position will confer with and talk to various local officials, state officials, colleges and universities, state medical boards and medical/professional organizations to 1) explain and promote West Virginia’s cross-sector collaboration to address prescription drug control, and 2) develop a sustainable model for rapid medical response teams, including objectives and standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Carry out full-performance level administrative and professional medical work overseeing the development of a model for rapid medical response teams in West Virginia. Advises on issues of patient care cross- sector collaboration to address the opioid epidemic in West Virginia. Exercises considerable independent judgment and discretion in the interpretation and the application of laws, procedures and regulations governing health programs. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from an accredited American or foreign medical school. One year of internship or residency at an American or Canadian hospital for those holding a degree from an American or Canadian medical school. Three years of internship or residency at an American or Canadian hospital for those holding a degree from a foreign medical school. Must pass the Federation Licensing Examination, the National Boards or an accepted board examination. Foreign physicians must have a valid certificate from the Educational Commission of Foreign Medical Graduates. Strong technical skills including word processing, spreadsheet development and management, and database management, with a particular emphasis on proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with particular experience reviewing and editing documents. Outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills; collegial; energetic; and able to develop productive relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and partners.
